COVID-19: 15 CRPF men, 5 cops among 198 test positive in J&K, tally at 7695 | KNO

Srinagar, July 01 (KNO): The number of COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir mounted to 7695 as 198 more people including 15 CRPF men, three Sahastra Seema Bal (SSB) men, two BSF personnel and five policemen tested positive for the deadly virus on Wednesday. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among new cases that were detected in J&K, 85 were tested positive at SKIMS, 15 at JVC Bemina, 80 at CD hospital and rest at other hospitals. Among 198 new cases, 179 belong to Kashmir division while as 19 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 6065 including 3690 recoveries and 92 ,deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached to 1630 including 1166 recoveries and 13 deaths. The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2734 including 2283 from Kashmir division and 451 from Jammu division. With 134 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 4856 which is 63.10 percent of the total cases. "Cases tested positive in J&K include 32 from Srinagar, 01 from Kulgam, 49 from Baramulla, 32 from Shopian, 08 from Anantnag, 16 from Kupwara, 06 from Budgam, 24 from Pulwama and 11 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 19 from Jammu division include 11 from Jammu, one from Udhampur, 03 from Doda and two each from Samba and Rajouri," officials disclosed. Dr G H Yatoo, Nodal officer for Covid-19 at SKIMS told KNO that out of 2550 samples tested at SKIMS on Wednesday, 85 samples were tested positive. He said that among 85 new cases, 15 are from CRPF battalions, 29 from Shopian, six from Anantnag, 15 each from Pulwama and nine from Srinagar, three each from Mumbai and Baramulla, 02 from Budgam and one each from Kupwara, Kulgam and Ganderbal. Dr Farooq Jan Medical Superintendent at SKIMS said that among 15 CRPF cases are from 185, 177, 162 and 181 battalions. Dr Reyaz Untoo, Principal at JVC Bemina said that out of 543 samples tested at SKIMS Bemina (JVC) 15 including 03 from Budgam and 12 from Srinagar were tested positive. He said that 15 more patients were discharged after recovery from hospital on Wednesday, taking tally of discharged patients to 498 while as 127 are undergoing treatment at hospital. He further added that 19 normal deliveries were managed and 25 major surgeries were conducted at hospital till date. Officials from CD hospital positive cases among 80 include 5 from Police station Shadipora, two BSF men posted in Baramulla, 3 SSB men from 14 battalion Ganderbal and a solider from BB cantonment Srinagar As per officials figures, 971 positive cases including 25 deaths and 355 recoveries are from Srinagar, 909 including 17 deaths and 385 recoveries are from Baramulla, 831 including 597 recoveries and 13 deaths are from Kulgam, 800 including 12 deaths and 583 recoveries are from Shopian, 674 including 08 deaths and 551 recoveries are from Anantnag, 553 including 412 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Kupwara, 508 including  249 recoveries and 04 deaths are from Pulwama, 422 including 234 recoveries and 07 death are from Budgam, 294 including 262 recoveries and 01 death are from Bandipora, 103 including 62 recoveries are from Ganderbal. In Jammu division, 359 including 283 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Jammu district, 280 including 172 recoveries and 01 death are from Udhampur, 222 including 183 recoveries are from Ramban, 232 including 161 recoveries and 01 death is from Kathua, 147 including 99 recoveries from Samba, 123 including 102 recoveries and 01 death are from Poonch, 115 including 01 death and 60 recoveries are from Rajouri, 80 including 59 recoveries and 01 death are from Doda, 45 including 26 recoveries are from Reasi and 27 including 21 recoveries are from Kishtwar. As per the daily information bulletin, 285,126 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 40,118 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 2734 persons are in hospital isolation while 35 persons are under hospital quarantine. According to the bulletin, 195,659 persons have completed surveillance period and 46,475 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 371,486 samples are available. Out of 371,486 the number of samples tested negative stands at 363,791 while as 7695 have been tested positive, among them 2734 are active and 4856 persons have recovered and 105 persons have died—(KNO)
